My Six Tips To Rid Negative Thoughts To Achieve Your Goals And Change Your Mindset

“Your mind is a powerful thing, when you fill it with positive thoughts, your life will start to change”

“Self-discipline begins with the mastery of your thoughts. If you don’t control what you think, you can’t control what you do”

Your mind is so damn powerful and will determine the kind of life you live. Your daily routine, your attitude, your relationships, etc.

It’s a daily practice!

Holy Shiiiiiit I’d be lying if I told you everyday was filled with all positive thoughts and positive things that come out of my mouth. I am NOT perfect.

I will tell you it for damn sure didn’t happen over night and STILL till this day I have moments or even days where negative thoughts will creep into my mind. I catch myself and instantly think about things that make me happy.

Ways To Help Rid Negative Thoughts:

  • Figure out exactly where these thoughts are coming from. Talk about them. Analyze them. Write them down. Get to the bottom of them. Adjust them.

Your mind thinks- ” She has really nice legs. My legs will never look like hers”

Adjust your mindset to ” I’ve been working out so hard and I can’t wait to see the results I have in a few months from my hard work and consistency!”

  • Read “Change your words, change your thoughts” by Joyce Myers

It. Will. Change. Your. Life. You will realize you are NOT the only person having these thoughts and she will teach you ways to rid negative thoughts and emotions. *Even if you are not religious I still recommend this book*

  • Go for a stroll. Walk. Run. Bike. Take 20-30 and enjoy nature. Listen to your favorite music and spend some time on you.

  • Go for a workout. Find a lifting workout I’ve written under my fitness tab and go pump some iron. Guaranteed 10/10 will make you feel like you WILL conquer the world!

  • Take a bath. Something about a bath bomb and candles makes me happy.

  • Listen to a motivational podcast. This is something I do not do enough of but when I do I LOVE it! It makes me feel so energized and excited for life. LOL

  • Meditate. The single most underrated activity in my opinion. I used to feel kinda silly mediating and still sometimes if Ryan is around I won’t do it because I feel silly but it seriously makes me feel so good! Find an app. I used Headspace until my trial was over and now I use youtube and debating on using a different email to get more free sessions on Headspace. 😉

Conquer your mind and YOU CAN DO ANYTHING.

If you take anything from this post it’s that I achieved these results by discipline and hard ass work. Adjusting my mindset has taught me disciple, determination, consistency, and so many other things.

Stop limiting yourself. Adjust your mindset and go achieve your goals!

Chemical Free Face Moisturizer

Olive Oil….

Yep, you read that right. A lot of my friends/family are in complete disbelief when I sneak to the kitchen in search of the olive oil. Haha! But in all seriousness…..

Let me first start off by telling you that I have extremely dry skin. There is, what it seems, absolutely zero oil produced on my face, which is why I believe olive oil doesn’t make my face break out into a hot mess. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I get the occasional period pimple on my chin or forehead, but I’ve never had acne.

Lately I have been on an all natural/no chemicals in my moisturizer, lotion, shampoo/conditioner so I searched high and dry for the perfect moisturizer. It took me by complete surprise not being able to find a single lotion that wasn’t drenched with added chemicals, fragrances, etc. So if the price I have to pay is smelling like olives, then so be it. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I keep my olive oil in a small dropper bottle next to the sink in my bathroom so I (and guests) don’t have to see a large bottle of olive oil sitting on the counter. LOL. And it is easy for me to take with me when I travel.

A little advice: If you do decide to use a chemical free moisturizer such as olive oil, I would recommend making sure your face is very clean before applying.

FYI: Still searching for a Shampoo/Conditioner that is chemical free. Help a girl out if you have any recommendations!

OH and BTW: For lotion I use a lotion bar that is made out of Beeswax, shea butter, coconut oil, and essential oil for fragrance. It is AMAZING! It is made by a company called Roark Acres. You can find it here!

I bought a sewing machine!

A freakin’ sewing machine! Growing up we didn’t sew with our grandparents like some. I am not even sure if my grandma was really into sewing as I do not ever recall her sewing or even talking about it. Really, I had never even touched a sewing machine until today when I unpackaged it and set it all up!

For the last couple of years I’ve been obsessed with swimsuits that of course cost a fortune. Brands like Vitamin A, LA hearts, Revolve, ASOS, etc. etc. the list could go on and on. Obviously as a grad. student, I cannot afford them so I thought I’d invest some time, practice, and a lot of patience and make them!

Let me start by telling you I am an absolute beginner. Such a beginner I didn’t even buy fabric at the craft store today. I’ve decided to spend some time playing around on old t-shirts and fabric from clothes at the thrift store before I invest money into fabric.

You guys. The entire process of clothes is unbelievable to me. The way they’re designed, cut out and sewn, I just cannot believe it. It is such a beautiful process. Every piece of clothing I have put on since the day I began sewing with my machine I have analyzed, debated weather or not to take it apart to use it as a pattern, and even told myself ” I can make this!!” more than an handful of times.

I. Am. Obsessed.

So, Before I get back to my sewing, I thought I’d share some of the tools I picked up at the craft store so if some of you decide to make your own clothes/swimsuits as a complete beginner, you’ll know where to start!

The sewing machine I purchased was a Brothers 1850. I did a ton of research far and wide and decided on this little gem. So far so good! I love it! I did a little shopping around and found it brand new on eBay for much cheaper than the price listed on Amazon.

In addition, I purchased

measuring tape.

Fiskars fabric shears . Despite the reviews, These scissors are great. I actually bought them at Joann and they were recommended to me buy a lady that works there.

Some pins. The cheapest ones I could find at the craft store.

This thread was also recommend to me by a lady working at the craft store. I basically told her I was a complete beginner and I needed something that wasn’t going to give me a tough time or break.

And that is it! Like I mentioned above I have just been practicing on some old t-shirts. I think I will head to the local thrift store today and find some different fabrics to play around with.

The hardest part for me has been cutting out the fabric. The fact that I am left handed and also trying to cut out my fabric perfectly is a combo that is going to take some practice but it has been so fun!

Here is a piece I made last night using two old t-shirts. I took a pair of old swim bottoms to give me an idea of the shape of the pattern and tweaked it a bit.

Valentine’s Day Gift Guide For Your Hunk

With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, I thought it would be fun to share a couple of gift ideas for your sexy man. Although Valentine’s day is not my favorite holiday, it’s still an excuse to gift my hunky, hardworking man with a little surprise. With no further blabber, lets get started!Image result for valentines day

I have never been so excited about a gift in my entire life. Why? Because every time Ryan, my boyfriend, shaves his face, it’s all over the bathroom counter, where our toothbrushes sit, and nothing has ever irritated me more. Hopefully this Hair Clippings Catcher is a life saver for me because theres nothin’ better than a cleanly shaved man with minimal clean up.

Although I am an introvert 85% of the year,  there are times that I love going to a Thunder game, especially since I know how much Ryan enjoys it. One of my favorite gift ideas, that I think is so meaningful and so fun, is tickets to a sporting event. There’s nothing better than cheap, last minute tickets at the top of the arena with a $12 marg’ in hand. In our experience SeatGeek has never let us down.

One of the sneakiest things about me is that I am a sucker for snooping through Amazon carts. I know, I know, that’s exactly how you ruin surprises, BUT it’s also a great way to find out exactly what those hard to shop for people want. These Wireless Jaybird Headphones that allow him to not have to hold his phone during a run/workout would be such a great gift for your man.

Every guy out there that I’ve ever met loves a clean truck/car, am I right or am I right? How about a truck/car detailing? I once took my car to get detailed and WOW it was so amazing and for a few months it made me feel like I actually had my life together! It is so easy to find a good detailer in every town/city so what better than to surprise him with a clean truck and a sweet card?!
